Maname Movie Review: Sharwanand Delivers Another Feel-Good Film

Maname Movie Review: Sharwanand shines in this feel-good film with his impeccable comic timing. Alongside Krithi Shetty

Sharwanand’s career is marked by a series of message-oriented, feel-good movies. After a two-year hiatus following the mother-sentiment movie ‘Oke Oka Jeevitham,’ Sharwanand returns with ‘Maname.’ The trailer generated significant interest, and the film hit theatres on June 7.

The story of ‘Maname’ begins in London, where the lead characters unexpectedly become caretakers of a child. The narrative explores how this situation brings a serious-minded hero and a meticulous heroine together through their shared responsibility for the child. While the first half has sporadic comedic moments, it lacks an emotional connection.

However, the second half successfully capitalizes on emotional moments. Within the first 30 minutes, many viewers might guess the climax. Despite its predictability, Sharwanand’s impeccable comic timing and Krithi Shetty’s performance elevate the film, making it a delightful experience. Hesham Abdul Wahab’s music and background score are significant strengths of the movie.

The entire film was shot in London and Europe, ensuring that every scene looks visually rich. Director Sriram Adittya has delivered an impressive work this time. ‘Maname’ could be considered his best film since ‘Bhale Manchi Roju.’ Though the emotional aspects in ‘Devadas’ didn’t resonate well, they are somewhat better executed in ‘Maname,’ although still not flawless. Nonetheless, Sharwanand’s comic timing sustains the film. If this connects with the audience, it could be a super hit.

Sharwanand mentioned that many scenes were cut during editing and advised viewers not to overanalyze the logic. An additional 20 minutes could have made the movie shorter and sweeter. Overall, ‘Maname’ will certainly appeal to Sharwanand’s fans. Others can also watch it for Sharwanand’s comic timing, Krithi Shetty’s performance, and the music.
