The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have claimed the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season title. In a thrilling final match held in Chennai on Sunday, KKR secured a resounding victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 8 wickets. The Hyderabad batsmen collapsed for just 113 runs.
Kolkata chased down this target with 57 balls to spare, marking their third IPL title, having previously won in 2012 and 2014. Mitchell Starc, who took 2 wickets in the final, was named the ‘Player of the Final Match.’
In this season, RCB batter Virat Kohli won the Orange Cap with a remarkable 741 runs. Punjab bowler Harshal Patel claimed the Purple Cap by taking 24 wickets.
KKR opener Sunil Narine was honored as the ‘Most Valuable Player’ of the season for his all-round performance, scoring 488 runs and taking 17 wickets.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad not only earned the runner-up title but also received the Fair Play Award. Nitish Kumar Reddy from Sunrisers Hyderabad was named the ‘Emerging Player of the Season.’
